Holyweek 2014
Holyweek 2014 Narrative
By Bvanne
I hardly slept. We woke up very early at 2am. We had
to be at the NAIA 4am for our 5:30am flight to Tagbilaran. We were going to
spend the holyweek in Bohol starting with Holy Thursday.
The drive from Binangonan to the airport was quick
because there were no traffic delays during early hours. It took us 1 hour and
30 minutes to reach the airport. There were few passengers at the terminal. We
were among the earliest to arrive.
I was excited as I am always everytime we travel to
Bohol. The last time we were in Bohol was during Christmas vacation 2013. We
were visiting Tagbilaran again because my mom was attending a national
convention. The whole family, daddy, my little sister and I went with mom. This
became our summer vacation and at the same time a holyweek retreat.
This is a picture of my dad and me in the plane.
We observed reverence of the holy days by not making
much noise and much singing. Instead, we visited different churches. We
attended mass of the Last super and joined the procession. We also heared the
midnight mass for Easter. I was so tired i fell asleep for a few minutes. I
really fought against sleepiness so i was able to wake up.
Easter is also like Christmas. We did not hang
stockings but had special food preparation. Then, it was time for merriment. We
went swimming at the Bohol Beach club.
This picture was taken when we were at the Bohol
Beach Club.
White sand, clean water and coconut trees are things
we enjoy at the Bohol Beach Club. It is located in Panglao island. It is around
30-45 minutes drive from our ancestral home.
Our ancestral home in Bohol is also near the sea. The
sea is just a few steps away from our house. My sister and I also enjoy
swimming there. It is not like the beach in the BBC. There is no white sand.
The rocks are sharp and if you are not careful you could step on and get stung
by a vicious sea urchin. But we still enjoy exploring that beach and swimming
there.
This is a picture of the vicious type sea urchin.
There are still more pictures to share and more stories to tell. But for now I'm getting sleepy so I must say goodnight for the mean time. .....to be continued
